Holiday times are some of the best times of the year! They are wonderful for cherishing and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

But along with the holidays come treats. A lot of sugar-filled treats.

We know that too much sugar in one's diet can lead to a suppressed immune system, dips in energy and mood. Staying mindful of one's sugar intake is essential every day to cultivate a healthy lifestyle.

So how can parents limit the sweets and choose healthier options?

We've got some ideas of fun and antioxidant-packed healthy snacks to enjoy during the holidays!

If you are looking for finger foods, try gluten-free crackers like Simple Mills with organic sunflower seed butter to create mini-sandwiches.

Daiya Cheese offers cheese sticks that can be decorated with cranberries to look like candy canes styled sticks. Or make flowers with strawberries and kiwis — so simple, yet fun!

Sliced zucchini, carrots, sweet potatoes can be baked in the oven on cookie sheets to create crunchy, healthy finger snack foods

Slices of thin turkey or chicken, along with hummus or avocados wrapped in Siete almond, cashew, or coconut wraps make the tastiest pinwheels

Rudolph celery sticks are quick and easy with celery stalks, nut butter down the middle of the stalk, cranberries for the red nose, and twisted pretzels for the antlers.

Strawberry Santa made with strawberries, So Delicious Cocowhip and Enjoy life mini chocolate chips are adorable and delightfully edible.

Santa's hat is creatively spun together with a strawberry as the hat and a banana for the bottom trim, and a mini marshmallow for the hat's top.

Warm-up some So Delicious unsweetened coconut or almond milk, add a spoonful of the So Delicious Cocowhip, and sprinkle some cinnamon or nutmeg on top for a warm drink after being outside.

Always keep KidsLuv drinks on hand to complement the smart health snack foods this holiday season! At least you do not have to worry about the sugar when you are drinking KidsLuv!

From little on, help your kids understand why making healthy snack choices is essential even during the holidays and you'll empower them for their lifetime!
